Every year since 1957, Glamour magazine has awarded and profiled 10 incredible college-age women who are doing everything from building a girls’ school in Afghanistan to inventing a solar-powered cooker that was recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency. Fun fact: Martha Stewart won in 1961. As an editor at Glamour, I ran this project and wrote the six-page story. The winners received national press attention, including a segment on the Today show.
